Pretoria, August 08, 2022.- The Official for Press and Cultural Affairs of the Cuban Embassy in South Africa, Lauren Luis Acosta, received today at the headquarters of the Mission a delegation of the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture (DSAC).
The meeting was attended by Letta Mbulu Semenya and Caiphus Semenya, founders of The National Academy of Africa´s Performing Arts, as well as John Mogashoa, Director of International Relations of the DSAC, Thapi Segoati, Deputy Director of International Relations of the DSAC and Tosca Makhambeni, Directorate of International Relations of the DSAC.
At the meeting was highlighted the good state of bilateral relations in this matter, especially after the ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of South Africa and the Republic of Cuba on Cultural Exchange and Cooperation, as well as how much progress can still be achieved.
It was highlighted the level of Cuban art academies as a reference for many art academies in the world and the prospects for collaboration in this specific branch were also addressed.
Both parties expressed their interest in maintaining and continuing the established ties and it was recognized the great influence of African culture on the Caribbean island.
