Cuban Ambassador Pays Courtesy Visit to the Anglican Church in Port of Spain

Port of Spain, April 20, 2026. The Ambassador of Cuba to Trinidad and Tobago, Gustavo Veliz Olivares, paid a courtesy visit to the Reverend Claude Berkeley, Bishop of the Anglican Church.

During the meeting, both parties exchanged views on the current situation in Cuba, particularly the impact of the tightening of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed on the country, further aggravated by the Executive Order issued on January 29 by President Donald Trump.

Tribute to Gilberto Bosques and Commemoration of the Commander-in-Chief on the 100th Anniversary of His Birth

Port of Spain, April 17, 2025. The screening of the documentary “Cuadernos de La Habana. Gilberto Bosques en Cuba” provided an appropriate occasion to remember the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, on the centenary of his birth. The documentary, produced by TV UNAM and written and directed by His Excellency Miguel Díaz Reynoso, Mexico’s ambassador in Havana, highlights Castro’s close ties with Mexico.

Adding to the ruthless energy siege—which has worsened the genocidal blockade policy over the past six decades—are statements by representatives of the U.S. governmental elite threatening military aggression.

Board Members of the Museums Association Visit the Embassy of Cuba in Trinidad and Tobago

Port of Spain, April 7, 2026. The Ambassador of Cuba to Trinidad and Tobago, Gustavo Véliz Olivares, received members of the Board of the Museums Association of Trinidad and Tobago during a courtesy visit at the diplomatic mission. During the meeting, both parties exchanged views on Cuba’s extensive network of museums, as well as UNESCO-recognized heritage sites and the country’s programs for the restoration and conservation of cultural assets.
