Nicosia, September 30, 2022. - The Cuban Ambassador, Angel Gustavo Suarez Cordero, was received at the offices of the EDEK party, by its President, Marinos Sizopoulos, together with the Vice President in charge of International Relations, Maria Vassiliadou.
During the meeting, Mr. Sizopoulos explained to the Cuban diplomat EDEK's positions on the Cyprus issue. They also exchanged on various international, regional and national issues.
The Cuban Ambassador gave an update on the negative impact on the daily lives of Cubans of the unjust and criminal blockade imposed by the US on the Caribbean island for more than 60 years and that for the 30th time the resolution calling for its lifting will be presented at the UN General Assembly.
Both sides agreed on the importance of continuing to strengthen the ties between the Communist Party of Cuba and EDEK, and the need to undertake actions to strengthen relations between the peoples of Cyprus and Cuba (EmbaCubaCyprus).
