Nicosia, October 20, 2022 - The Commissioner for the Environment of Cyprus, Mrs. Klelia Vasiliou received at the headquarters of said institution the Ambassador of Cuba, Angel Gustavo Suárez Cordero on a courtesy visit.
During the friendly meeting, both highlighted the coincidences in the environmental challenges of their respective countries. At the same time, they exchanged on the problems the world is facing today and how the environment is the main axis.
The Cuban Ambassador presented to the Cypriot Commissioner the Cuban State's plan for the preservation of the environment known as "Task Life" and they exchanged on the 5 strategic areas and the 11 tasks included in the document. Likewise, the Cuban diplomat commented on the effects of the blockade in this sensitive area for the development of the country.
Both showed interest in continuing to cooperate in order to further exchange experiences on these core issues and on which both countries are facing common challenges (EmbaCuba Cyprus).
