With the desire to reconnect with his roots, to visit what he considers his home, the outstanding Cuban pianist, Nachito Herrera, went to the Cuban Embassy in the United States, in the framework of the National Culture Day.
The musician thanked for the invitation and said that it was a great pleasure for him to celebrate this day. At the same time, he stressed that from anywhere in the world he feels proud to be Cuban.
Regarding the campaign to discredit the island in the artistic sector, Herrera pointed out that it is not difficult to defend the Cuban identity from abroad and specifically from the United States, when it is done with the truth.
From his simplicity and with the love he professes for the Island, for his Cuban brothers, Nachito sent a message of solidarity to those affected by Hurricane Ian, where he encourages them to continue fighting with the certainty that he and many around the world will continue to contribute their grain of sand for a speedy recovery.
During the exchange with members of Cuba's diplomatic mission in Washington, the prominent artist urged them to continue fighting against the cruel and inhumane blockade imposed on Cuba for more than six decades. I fight against that policy because it does exist, because it has caused innumerable damages to the people and I dream of one day seeing Cuba without a blockade, he added.
