Mexico will hire another 119 Cuban doctors to provide services as of January 2023

Another 119 Cuban doctors will arrive in Mexico next January to provide their specialized services, announced the director of the National Social Security Institute, Zoé Robledo.

In the morning press conference of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador at the National Palace, dedicated today to health issues, Robledo made the announcement in a recount of the Cuban doctors hired to work in the country.

He said that 491 specialists are in 11 states, in very difficult and marginal places, and help provide coverage 24/7 in the hospitals where they are stationed.

In these remote places, where for many years there was no medical coverage, collaboration with Cuba through the Ministry of Health has been vital since the agreement was signed on July 20, a contingent of men and women with a lot of experience, said the.

In those places before there were no specialties, he added, because they are areas with very difficult coverage for internal medicine, pediatrics, cardiology, ENT, trauma, orthopedics, hemophilia, anesthesia and emergencies, among others.

The official added that the international call is maintained and that 994 doctors from numerous countries, including Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador and the United States, responded to it.
