The National Electoral Council (CEN) reports the final result of the national elections held last Sunday, March 26

Alina Balseiro Gutiérrez, president of the National Electoral Council, recalled that the 1st. On December 2022, the Council of State called national elections to elect the deputies of the National Assembly of People's Power.

The National Electoral Council, in charge of organizing and validating the election processes, proceeded to comply with the different electoral steps established by Law.

The process was carried out in 12,427 constituencies and 23,648 polling stations were determined, including 250 special ones in hospitals (106), hotels (80) and campsites and other centers (64).

80 districts were created in 27 municipalities.

More than 200,000 authorities intervened, of them more than 62,000 constituencies and more than 118,000 electoral tables, who carry out their work voluntarily.

Prior to the approval of the candidacy by the Municipal Assemblies of People's Power and compliance with the Law, the body verified that the pre-candidates met the requirements to be elected deputies.

Voting began with a basic part of 8,120,072 voters.

After the process of making the lists compatible by the Electoral Registry, since in this process the voters could vote in a place other than their residence, it ended with an updated part of 8,129,321 voters.

The majority participation of our people is ratified. 6,167,605 Cubans exercised their right to vote, which represents 75.87%.

The number of voters who went to the polls was higher than the two electoral processes that preceded it: the Family Code Referendum and the Municipal Elections.

All the deputies were elected with more than 61% of the valid votes cast, by the free, equal, direct and secret vote of the electors, whom the National Electoral Council congratulated on their election.

The newly elected members of the National Assembly will assume office and begin exercising their functions on April 19. The same day, they will elect the new President and Vice President of the Republic, as well as the leadership body of the Assembly and the members of the Council of State, among others.
