Pretoria, March 27, 2023.- The member of the National Executive Committee of the African National Congress (ANC), Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, received this morning the Cuban deputy minister of Foreign Affairs, Elio Rodríguez Perdomo who is currently in an official visit to the country. The director for Sub-Saharan Africa of the Cuban Foreign Ministry, Luis Alberto Amorós, and the Cuban ambassador to South Africa, Enrique Orta González, also participated in the meeting.
During the exchange, the historical relations between the Communist Party of Cuba and the ANC were highlighted and the strength of the solidarity ties between both countries was recognized. In addition, the strengthening of bilateral ties in partisan matters was advocated.
Dlamini-Zuma reaffirmed her party's support for the Revolution, particularly the fight against the criminal economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against the island. For his part, the Cuban deputy minister thanked South Africa for its solidarity throughout all these years and reiterated Cuba's invariable commitment to supporting African causes.
