Nicosia, April 26, 2023- The Representative of the Latin Community in Cyprus, Mrs. Antonella Mantovani received in the Parliament the Ambassador of Cuba, Angel Gustavo Suarez Cordero in courtesy visit.
During the meeting, Mrs. Mantovani gave a brief report to the Ambassador on how the Latin community in Cyprus was formed and its contribution since its arrival to the island; the relationship of the community with the Catholic Church and the service they offer in the education sector with schools, in the social sector with the support to immigrants and the voluntary service in health issues.
For his part, the Ambassador informed the Commissioner about the religions existing in Cuba, the strong respect among all religious communities and how the unjust and inhuman blockade imposed by the US affects all forms of freedom and quality of life in Cuba.
Both showed interest in cooperating in the future with activities of common interest (EmbaCuba Cyprus).
