Pretoria, June 14, 2023.- The Cuban Embassy in South Africa, together with a representation of the different brigades working in the country, paid a heartfelt tribute to Antonio Maceo and Ernesto Guevara, on the 178th and 95th anniversary of their births, respectively.
José Rivero, Third Secretary of the Embassy stressed in his speech that the coincidences between both heroes are not limited to the day of their birthdays, as their thoughts and actions in different centuries place them as examples of courage, dignity, anti-imperialism, solidarity and commitment to the libertarian causes of Cuba and Latin America.
The participants shared stories and personal anecdotes that relate them to both Che and Maceo, highlighting the relevance of keeping history alive and remembering those heroes who gave their lives fighting for the independence and sovereignty of the peoples.
