Sandton, August 24, 2023 - Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, in his capacity as Chair of the G77 and China, participated today in the segment of the Brics Plus Dialogue, which together with the Brics Africa Outreach included nations from the Global South, the African continent and international organizations.
In his speech, the Cuban leader stressed that "the G77 and the BRICS have the responsibility and the possibility of acting for a change in this unjust world order. It is not an option; it is the only alternative".
He also recalled how the real transformation of the current international financial architecture, which he described as deeply unjust, anachronistic and dysfunctional, is a historic demand of both the G77 and the BRICS.
