The translation of the book "The History of Cuba" was carried out by the renowned Cypriot translator Andreas Ignatiou, in collaboration with the Cyprus-Cuba Friendship Association and the Almira publishing house.

The book has a note to the reader sent by Fernando González Llor, one of the Five Cuban Heroes and President of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, in which he greets the Friendship Association and the Cypriot people. In the letter, Fernando exposes the challenge that constitutes for the Cuban people to honor their history and in particular the work of Martí and Fidel.

During the presentation of the book, the Cuban ambassador, Angel Gustavo Suárez Cordero, had the opportunity to exchange with several visitors to the Almira publisher's stand in the Acropolis Park, headquarters of the Book Fair. Present during the pleasant meeting were the president of the Cyprus Cuba Friendship Association, Dr. Andreas Chrisantou and Vera Policarpou, head of international relations of the AKEL party and secretary of the friendship association, as well as Marios Georgiou, director of the aforementioned publishing house. .

The ambassador thanked those present for the interest shown in the book, while updating them on the current situation of the Caribbean island after more than 60 years of the effects of a cruel blockade, intensified during and after the COVID 19 pandemic.
