Havana, September 16, 2023 - The South African Foreign Minister, Dr. Naledi Pandor, heads her country's delegation to the G77 and China Summit of Heads of State and Government on the theme: "Current Development Challenges: The Role of Science, Technology and Innovation".
In her speech, the Foreign Minister expressed her country's gratitude to the Cuban people and government who sacrificed their lives to decisively advance the fight against colonialism, racism and apartheid.
She also stressed that the countries of the Group "must pursue a development agenda based on science and innovation" which, she said, "will advance our fight against poverty, inequality and unemployment".
The minister also called for an end to the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba.
