Embassy of Cuba in South Africa celebrates Annual Balance of the State Mission

Pretoria, December 19, 2023.- The staff of the Cuban Embassy in South Africa, together with the heads of the collaboration brigades working in the country, celebrated the annual balance of the Cuban State Mission in this nation. Ambassador Enrique Orta evaluated the results of the work achieved in 2023.

The Ambassador referred to the political-diplomatic work, with South African party, trade union and solidarity organisations, as well as the economic-commercial, administrative-accounting and consular areas. He highlighted as one of the transcendental moments of the year the visit of the Cuban President and First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, to this headquarters. At the same time, he shared his assessment of the work of the collaboration brigades in the year that is coming to an end and the main challenges for 2024.

In general, the Ambassador explained, "2023 has been an intense and challenging year, in which we have successfully faced the complexities imposed by the local and international scenario. In 2024, we must continue to work, with responsibility, hard work, discipline and unity in the service of the homeland". He ended his speech with congratulations to the entire collective, which has contributed with its efforts and dedication to the achievement of the results obtained.
