Mbombela, 16 January 2024 - The second day of the VII African Continental Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba ratified the commitment to the Revolution. The more than 200 delegates insisted on the need to articulate concrete actions of solidarity with the island.
“We left Cuba but Cuba will always be in our hearts” expressed the representatives of the Association of South African Graduates in Cuba (CAASA), who reaffirmed their solidarity with the Cuban people. They recalled their stay in Cuba and the contribution of the island to their integral formation.
The rejection of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed against Cuba was one of the most reiterated themes in the delegates' speeches. They demanded its immediate lifting and condemned the inclusion of Cuba on the list of countries sponsoring terrorism.
The different working commissions outlined common challenges and aspirations, while exploring strategies to strengthen international solidarity and advocate for a more just and equitable world order.
