Cuban Ambassador meets with officials in the Australian Parliament to promote triangular cooperation with Pacific Islands

Canberra, 17 January, 2024. The Cuban ambassador to Australia, Tanieris Diéguez La O, met with Australian officials at the Parliament to promote the implementation of triangular cooperation projects with the Pacific Islands.

The meeting was an excellent opportunity to present three projects linked to the field of health and one related to the environment, through which Cuba and Australia could help the Pacific Islands. Cooperation in education and sports sectors was also discussed.

Present from the Australian side were Amanda Davis, senior advisor in the office of the Minister for Pacific Affairs, Pat Conroy; Benita Sommervillea, director of the Pacific Development Training Section; Kat Knope, senior health advisor of the Center for Health Security and Global Health Division; and Drew Dainer, official of the Latin America Division of the Australian Foreign Ministry.

The ambassador was accompanied by the third secretary of the Mission, Ivianes Gonzalez.
