  1. How and where did you celebrate Lunar New Year last year? /Please, share your experience and thoughts about this traditional holiday/

We have celebrated Tsagaan Sar in 2023 like in family with some Mongol friends and the employees of the Embassy. They are old friends or professionals graduated in Cuba. We have eat some food, drank, talked, and shared jokes and anecdotes of their stay in Cuba and mine here.

  1. How are you going to celebrate this year?

We will celebrate it again in the same way with friends.  This is like a family celebration and Mongolian friends and our employees are like our family here that share with us your rich traditions, culture, music and dance, your traditional colorful dresses and your beautiful nature.

  1. Please send Lunar New Year's greetings to all Mongolians.

First of all, I congratulate the people, the President, the government and public and private entrepreneurs for their excellent economic results last year. Also on behalf of the Cuban government and people, my family and myself, I wish the President, the Government, the families and the people of Mongolia a Happy Lunar New Year and health, prosperity, new economic and personal successes and well-being.

I also thank, once again, the humanitarian support of the Mongolian government and people to Cuba for the damage caused by natural disasters and in particular the vote in favor of the resolution against the US economic blockade on  Cuba in the United Nations General Assembly.

  1. What does the Cuban Embassy plan to do in 2024?

In order to strengthening and diversifying our 63 years old friendly, respectful and mutual beneficial relations between our countries and peoples, our Embassy has many things to do to deepen our economic, commercial and cooperation ties.

This year, as a result of the successful visit of the President of Mongolia to Havana in September 2023, Cuba decided to increase the number of free scholarships that it has granted since 1963 to Mongolian students to study medicine at the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM). This University was internationally accredited for 6 years, along with its study program by the International Evaluation and Accreditation Committee (CEAI) of the Union of Universities of Latin America and the Caribbean, which is a recognition of its high quality.

Given the results of Cuban Biotechnology in the production of bioproducts for humans, cattle and agriculture, Cuba is working in the introduction or the production here of some products to help to adrress some of the problems face by the cattle herders and the agricultura in order to treat plants and cattle diseases and pests and increase production and incomes.

We are working for the participation of Mongolians in important International Congresses and Trade Fairs in Cuba such as XXIV Habano´s Festival, from February 26-March 1, the International Tourism Fair FITCuba 2024, from May 2nd to 5th in the Jardines del Rey keys, Cuba's second sun and beach destination, the Havana´s International Fair (FIHAV 2024): from 5 to 9 November  and the XV Havana Art Biennial of contemporary art, from November 15, 2024 to February 28, 2025.

We also encourage the Mongolian businessmen to benefit from the business and investment opportunities in Cuba (https://inviertaencuba.mincex.gob.cu/en/) in some of your outstanding sectors such as mining, renewable energy, construction, agriculture and food industry.
