III International Scientific Congress is held in the province of Cuba.

The III International Scientific University-Society Congress (Unisoc2024) starts today in the Cuban province of Matanzas and will last until March 28 with the aim of promoting knowledge towards sustainable development.

With more than 700 participants from eight countries, Unisoc will be held at the Plaza America Convention Center in Varadero and the University of Matanzas (UM) and under the slogan For a society of learning towards sustainable development, the event brings together prestigious Cuban and foreign scientists and academics, with Honduras as guest of honor.

According to UM's institutional communicator, Yasnier Hinojosa, the event will feature the XVI International Workshop on Gender, Culture and Society, the II International Workshop on The Antiracial Debate Today: Racism, Prejudice and Discrimination, and the III International Symposium on Heritage and Culture.

Unisoc will become an ideal meeting for the exchange of experiences, the promotion and exhibition of products, as well as the follow-up and treatment of policies such as the national program for economic and social development, he added.

Under the auspices of the UM, the event will address among its themes the management of capacities from science and innovation for local development, physical activity and human development in active and sustainable aging, learning towards sustainable tourism, the challenges of sugar production and its derivatives and the management of capacities from science.

In addition to Unisoc, the II Varadero 2024 Business Fair will be held in Cuba's main sun and beach destination, a meeting aimed at promoting exchanges between companies and new economic players in the province and the country.
