Cuba's National Assembly of People's Power (Parliament) today made available to the population the draft laws on Foreigners and Migration, with the aim of promoting citizen participation and contributing to the legal culture.
To that end, the legislative body included in its official website the texts of both projects, as well as e-mails through which those interested may express their opinions and suggestions on these issues.
The first of these proposed normative provisions is aimed at regulating the attention, protection, identification and legal documentation of foreigners visiting or residing in the country, as reported by the Parliament on its website.
The draft law on Foreigners will also regulate the process of social insertion of residents, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of the Republic of Cuba, and international legal instruments on foreigners.
On the other hand, the Migration Bill seeks to regulate the process under a systemic conception of development, aimed at achieving a regular, orderly and safe flow.
The National Assembly also recently made available to the public the draft laws on Transparency and Access to Public Information, Administrative Procedure and the System of Honorary Titles and Decorations of the Republic of Cuba.
These legislative proposals will be submitted for analysis and discussion by the deputies, with a view to their timely presentation to the Cuban Parliament.
