Cuban Alumni Association in South Africa condemns the inclusion of the island on the US terrorist list

Pretoria, 18 July 2024 - The Cuban Alumni Association of South Africa (CAASA) has issued a statement condemning the recent terrorist attempts against Cuba by the United States. It also condemned the continued inclusion of the island on the spurious and unilateral list of countries that sponsor terrorism.

The South African graduates are at a loss to explain how a country that has extended solidarity and cooperation to the whole world in the form of doctors, teachers, engineers, sportsmen and women can be included on such a list, when in fact it has been and continues to be a victim of the scourge of terrorism, including state-sponsored terrorism.

The text also calls on the US government to lift the cruel and unjust economic blockade against Cuba, which has been unanimously rejected by the international community at the United Nations General Assembly since 1992.
