Cuba's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, presented an update of the National Report on the Impact of the U.S. Blockade.

Havana, September 12th, 2024. The Minister exemplified the damages deliberately caused by this illegal and inhuman policy in sectors such as the economic-commercial, social, public services, energy and tourism, as well as in the non-state sector of the economy.

He also referred to the harmful effect of the arbitrary inclusion of Cuba in the unilateral list of alleged State sponsors of terrorism, which has reinforced the impact of the blockade on all aspects of the socio-economic life of the country.

From March 1st, 2023 to February 29, 2024, the blockade caused damages and material losses to Cuba estimated in the order of 5,56.8 billion dollars, which represents an increase of 189.8 million dollars with respect to the previous report. The current challenges of the Cuban reality would have a better and easier solution if Cuba could have at its disposal the substantial resources of which the blockade deprives it.

The National Report on the impact of the U.S.A blockade against Cuba is published in its entirety on the website of the Cuban Foreign Ministry: https://cubaminrex.cu/es/informe-de-cuba-sobre-la-resolucion-787-de-la-asamblea-general-de-las-naciones-unidas

The presentation and voting of Resolution 78/7 of the UN General Assembly, requesting the elimination of the unjust and criminal blockade against Cuba, on October 29th and 30th, will constitute one more proof of the worldwide isolation of the United States of America in its failed policy of trying to surrender the Cuban people and defeat its Revolution.
