Helsinki, January 7, 2025.- The President of the Finland-Cuba Association, Matti Siltala, shared a greeting message on behalf of the Organization for the 66th Anniversary of the Cuban Revolution. In his words spread on social media, the Finnish friend rejects the inclusion of Cuba in the spurious list of States sponsoring terrorism and the US blockade policies.
"In the Association we are well aware of Cuba's national and global achievements, as well as the difficult situation that the country is going through due to the illegal economic embargo, as well as the unfair and incorrect practice of including Cuba in the list of States that supposedly sponsor terrorism" Siltala highlights in his message, which has been replicated by the Cuban Foreign Ministry.
The Finland-Cuba Association, with more than six decades since its foundation, has worked for the cultural relationship and collaboration between both countries, as well as in supporting the Island in the face of the impact of the commercial and financial blockade of the United States. Only in 2024, the donations promoted by the Association allowed the collection of more than 16 thousand euros in medicines sent to Cuba through Medicuba Europe. The "Victoria de Girón" brigade, organized by the Association, annually carries out charitable work in pediatric institutions in the province of Las Tunas, with which it has maintained close collaboration since its foundation.
