Nicosia, Cyprus - The Cuban Ambassador to Cyprus, Angel Gustavo Suarez Cordero received at his embassy, on the morning of January 24, the Ambassador of Palestine to Cyprus, Abdallah Attari and held a fraternal meeting to discuss issues on the regional agenda and about their respective countries.
The Palestinian diplomat provided a comprehensive update on the current humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the West Bank following the recent ceasefire and the challenges facing the Palestinian population, as well as the thousands of displaced and dead resulting from this genocide against a dignified people.
For his part, the Cuban ambassador shared details about the continuing impacts of the economic blockade on the Cuban people and the politically motivated decision of the new US administration to reinstate Cuba on the list of state sponsors of terrorism.
During the meeting, they discussed at length the humanitarian situation in the Palestinian territories in different areas. They exchanged on the unilateral and legally unsustainable nature of international sanctions, Cuba's solidarity with the Palestinian people, and Cuba's decision to formally join South Africa's lawsuit against Israel in the International Court of Justice.
The Cuban Ambassador expressed full solidarity with the Palestinian people and reaffirmed Cuba's commitment to international justice and humanitarian principles (EmbaCuba Cyprus).
