Fruitful Meeting between Cuban Ambassador and the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Nicosia

Nicosia, Cyprus—The Cuban Ambassador to Cyprus, Mr. Angel Gustavo Suárez Cordero, held a significant meeting with the directors of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Nicosia, where he presented opportunities for academic cooperation between the two countries. 

During the meeting, the Ambassador provided a detailed presentation of the Cuban Agency for Social and Humanistic Sciences (AXIS), which operates under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA). The various possibilities for collaboration with each of the institutes that make up AXIS were explored, generating great interest among Cypriot academics.

Distinguished academics attended the meeting:

• Dr. Ioulia Papageorgi, Associate Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences and Coordinator of the MSc in Educational/School Psychology

• Dr. Stavroula Soukara, Associate Professor of Forensic Psychology and Associate Head of the Department of Social Sciences

• Prof. Paschalis Paschalis, Head of the Department of Design and Multimedia

• Dr. Mike Majimichael, Head of the Department of Communications

• Dr. Rossitsa Artemis, Head of the Department of Languages and Literature

• Dr. Angela Petrou, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Architecture

The University of Nicosia professors expressed their enthusiasm for developing cooperative links between Cuba and Cyprus in the academic and scientific fields (EmbaCuba Cyprus).
