Roseau, Dominica - February 12, 2025 - In a meeting that reaffirms the ties of cooperation in the field of health, the Cuban Ambassador to Dominica, Miguel Fraga, held a fruitful dialogue with the Minister of Health, Cassanni Laville. During the meeting, the Cuban diplomat presented Minister Laville with an official invitation sent by his Cuban counterpart, José Angel Portal Miranda, to participate in the V Cuba-Health 2025 International Convention, to be held in Havana from April 21 to 25 of this year.
This outstanding event will include the XVI Health for All Fair and the II Medical Tourism and Wellness Fair, where more than a thousand delegates are expected to participate. The convention will address crucial issues such as universal health and equity in access to medical services, with the aim of strengthening the international commitment to more inclusive and efficient health systems.
In addition to the invitation to this relevant forum, both parties discussed the medical collaboration that Cuba and Dominica have sustained over the years. Currently, a Cuban medical brigade is providing its services in Dominica, contributing significantly to the strengthening of the local health system and to the care of the population in various specialties.
Minister Laville expressed his gratitude for the invitation and reiterated his recognition of Cuba's constant support in the health sector. For his part, Ambassador Fraga emphasized that “the collaboration in the area of health between Cuba and Dominica is a testimony of solidarity and mutual commitment. We will continue to work together with our brothers and sisters in Dominica to ensure quality health care for all”.
This meeting reaffirms the shared commitment to continue promoting joint initiatives in the field of health and to foster the exchange of knowledge and experiences for the benefit of both nations.
