Helsinki, March 3, 2025.- On the afternoon of this Friday, the Cuban Embassy in Finland had the pleasure of receiving the Bishop of the Diocese of Helsinki of the Catholic Church, HE Raimo Goyarrola.
During the exchange, Ambassador Beatriz Parra González and Consul Adalberto Ávila Parra conveyed the best wishes for the prompt recovery of the Holy Father, Pope Francis, from his recent illness, expressed from Cuba by President Miguel Díaz-Canel.
The exchange also highlighted the excellent relations between Cuba and the Holy See, reflected in the visits of the last three Supreme Pontiffs, John Paul II (1998), Benedict XVI (2012) and Pope Francis (2015).
During the exchange, the diplomat also referred to the impact on daily life in Cuba of the tightening of the US blockade and to issues related to religious freedoms in the country, a topic of interest to the distinguished visitor.
