The Cuban Ambassador to Mongolia, Jorge Ferrer, paid tribute and congratulated Mongolian women journalists and those working in international relations at other institutions.
The event was attended by journalists who traveled to Cuba in September 2023 to cover the G-77 and China Summit, who publish information about Cuba, and some officials from CITI University and the Academy of Sciences.
The ambassador recalled the origin of the commemoration of the International Women's Day and thanked the journalists present for their publications on international events in Cuba and Cuban issues.
He quoted the National Hero, José Martí, for whom, "(…) the campaigns of the people are only weak when the heart of women is not enlisted in them." He alluded to Fidel Castro's assertion that, "Without women, the enormous work of the Revolution would not have been possible." (…)”
The Ambassador informed them that a new conflict is taking place between the US and developing countries, due to the US objective of ending Cuba's medical cooperation by blackmailing it by denying visas to officials from the recipient countries.
He highlighted that, among others, the Prime Ministers of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada, and Barbados, publicly rejected the blackmail and stated that they will not exchange their dignity or the health of their citizens for a US visa.
He affirmed that the crusade against Cuban cooperation contrasts with its international recognition, such as the 2017 World Health Organization Award Dr. Lee Jong-wook's nomination for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize.
