Cuban Ambassador to Mongolia met with the CEO of the Mongolian National Mining Association

The Ambassador  of Cuba to Mongolia, Jorge Ferrer, met with the Executive Director (CEO) of the Mongolian National Mining Association to share views on  opportunities for cooperation.

The Executive Director informed on the celebration here of the "Mining Week 2025 and the Mongolia MinePro Exhibition and Convention" in this capital from September 11-13, and invited Cuban companies to participate, as in 2024.

The Cuban Ambassador shared information about the 11th International Earth Sciences Convention and Expo (Geociencias 2025), in Havana, from April 7-11, 2025, convened by the Cuban Geological Society.

The Ambassador emphasized that the experience of Mongolian geological, geophysical, mining, and oil firms and professionals would be a great contribution to Geociencias 2025, as Mongolia's mining sector is one of the main in the world.

The diplomat added that the 9th Geociencias 2023 Convention was attended by some 400 researchers, professionals, scientists, and businessmen from some 20 countries, including United States, China, France, Spain, Mexico, and Uruguay.

He also highlighted that Geosciences 2025 will host five Congresses:  the 16th Geology Congress, the 13th Geophysics Congress, the 12th Mining Congress, the 10th Oil and Gas Congress, and the 15th Informatics and Geosciences Congress (GEOINFO).

Both parties also talked on the membership, functions, and activities of the Mongolian Mining Association, the development of mining, and the presence of foreign investment in both countries.

The Mongolian National Mining Association was founded about 30 years ago and brings together some 56 public, private, and joint venture mining companies, both domestic and foreign.
