On the eve of the anniversary of the Union of Young Communists of Cuba, the Cuban ambassador to Ireland receives young people from the youth organization "Ógra Sinn Féin."

Dublin, April 3, 2025. On the eve of the 63rd anniversary of the Union of Young Communists of Cuba, young people from the Irish organization, Ógra Sinn Féin, the youth wing of the party of the same name, led by Megan Tynan, members of its national leadership were received by the ambassador, Bernardo Guanche Hernández, at the headquarters of the diplomatic mission.

During the meeting, the diplomat gave a presentation on Cuba, its history, the reasons that led to the Cuban Revolution of 1959, the consequences of aggressive US policy, particularly the blockade and its inclusion on the List of State Sponsors of Terrorism, Cuban international cooperation in health matters, the importance of solidarity, and the excellent ties with Ireland, including with Sinn Féin, among other issues.

For their part, the young people were interested in various topics, including the Cuban political and healthcare systems, the Caribbean island's advances in biotechnology research, and the potential for cooperation in this field.

The meeting, which also included the participation of Mary Barry, National Coordinator of the Cuba Solidarity Forum, took place in a fraternal atmosphere, in keeping with the existing relations between the two peoples.
