Vice President of the Union of Jurists of Cuba visiting Australia

Sydney, Apr 14 (Prensa Latina) The deputy to the National Assembly (Parliament) and vice president of the Union of Jurists of Cuba, Yamila González, began a working visit today aimed at strengthening bilateral ties in this sector.

During her stay in Australia, González will be received by the Ambassador for Gender Equality, Stephanie Copus Cambpbell, and will hold meetings with the faculty of the University of Sydney, as well as with personalities of the legal sector.

The program of the visit also includes interviews with lawyers' associations, her participation in events organized by Griffith University, and a meeting with members of the Cuba-Australia Friendship Society to discuss progress in the implementation of the Family Code in Cuba.

The Cuban legislator will also hold exchanges with specialists on issues related to women's rights, gender, and family, elements in which she develops her work as an expert.
