Cuba present at the Swearing-in Ceremony of the New Governor-General of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

Kingstown, January 7, 2025.— The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines participated this Tuesday in the solemn swearing-in ceremony of the new Governor-General, Sir Stanley Kendrick John, held in the country’s capital with the presence of senior government authorities, members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of Parliament, and Vincentian civil society.

The official ceremony, conducted in an atmosphere of solemnity and institutional respect, marked the beginning of Sir Stanley Kendrick John’s term as representative of the Head of State and guarantor of the Constitution of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

During the event, Prime Minister Godwin Friday highlighted democratic values, institutional stability and the new Governor’s commitment to public service and offered his full support and confidence in his management.

The outgoing Governor-General, Dame Susan Dougan, OBE, praised the career of her successor and wished him success in his new responsibilities. In her farewell remarks, she thanked the nation for the support she received throughout the performance of her duties.

The presence of the Cuban Ambassador at this significant occasion reaffirms the historic ties of friendship, cooperation, and mutual respect that unite the Republic of Cuba and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, as well as the shared interest in continuing to strengthen bilateral relations.
