Nicosia, Cyprus, March 25, 2026.– Invited by the Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic in Cyprus, His Excellency Mr. Konstantinos Kollias, the Cuban Ambassador in this capital, Rubén Pino Martínez, joined on Wednesday the diplomatic corps accredited in this capital at the official reception offered by Greece on the occasion of its National Day.
The reception had the distinguished presence of Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, President of the Republic of Cyprus, who highlighted in his speech the excellent bilateral relations between the two nations after presiding over the March 25 parade in front of the Greek embassy in Nicosia and reaffirmed that his government continues its efforts for the "liberation and reunification" of Cyprus, based on the lessons of the Greek War of Independence of 1821.
Ambassador Konstantinos Kollias thanked the guests for their presence at such a significant commemoration, "to celebrate together the anniversary of a key event in the modern history of the Greek nation and of Hellenism in general." March 25 marks the most decisive period in our modern and contemporary history. It led to the creation of the modern Greek State," he specified.
The host ambassador shared with his guests the pleasure of also commemorating today's glorious chapters of Greek history, while reaffirming that the "fraternal relations between the Hellenic Republic and the Republic of Cyprus are continuously reaffirmed and strengthened; on all levels and in all areas of our bilateral cooperation."
Opportunity in which the Cuban diplomat greeted the team of the Hellenic diplomatic mission and extended his congratulations to the Greek government and people on their National Day, while also wishing his counterpart, Konstantinos Kollias, renewed success in his performance as ambassador on the island of the Eastern Mediterranean.
A scenario, also timely, for the Antillean diplomat to receive numerous expressions of affection, prosperity, and well-being for the Cuban people and government in the current circumstances the Caribbean nation is going through.
