Cuban Ambassador Hosts Leaders of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Australia

Canberra, 16 April 2026. The Cuban Ambassador to Australia, Gilma Moreira Lino, hosted Andrew Irving and Vinnie Molina—secretary general and president of the Communist Party of Australia (CPA), respectively—at the embassy. Other members of the CPA Central Committee and representatives of the Australia-Cuba Friendship Society (ACFS) were also present.

During the meeting, they discussed issues of mutual interest and reaffirmed the importance of continuing to work together to strengthen ties between the Communist Party of Cuba and the Communist Party of Australia.

The ambassador thanked the CPA for its actions condemning the blockade and for its solidarity with the Cuban people. She also expressed her gratitude for the resolution in support of Cuba adopted during the 15th Congress.

The secretary and the president of the CPA, for their part, conveyed to the ambassador their willingness to continue working to support the Cuban Revolution, above all because of the inspiration that Cuba represents for the world.
