Celebrate in Cyprus “Viva Cuba Fiesta,” a massive song of love and solidarity with Cuba, its people, culture, and traditions.

Nicosia, Cyprus, July 4, 2026. From the cultural stage of the Sacred Metropolis of Tamassos & Orinis, in Nicosia, thousands of Cypriots and lovers of Caribbean culture from various nationalities celebrated this Friday, July 3, the fifth edition of the annual event “Viva Cuba Fiesta,” an incomparable gift to Cuban culture and a heartfelt show of solidarity with the largest of the Antilles.

Organized by the Caliente Dance School of Nicosia, with the support of Bishop Isaías of the Sacred Metropolis of Tamassos & Orinis, the Panchipriote Council for Peace, and the collaboration of the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Cyprus, the evening offered a night of joy, connection, and full tribute to the diverse expressions of Cuban culture. The main highlight of the event was the gala "Cuba My Love - A Journey to the Soul of Cuba," presented by Cuban master Dayana Torres and the event coordinator, Giorgos Christodoulos, together with other participating dance schools and the team of assisting collaborators.

At its opening, the Cuban ambassador to Cyprus, Rubén Pino Martínez, thanked all the organizers and participants for their support and the charitable and supportive spirit that the event has maintained regarding Cuba since its previous editions, which will make it possible to send medicines, medical supplies, and other donations as humanitarian aid to hospitals and social projects in the Cuban capital as a result of holding this event.

The Cuban diplomat commented, “We are living very difficult times on our beloved island, due to the genocidal blockade and the energy siege imposed by the world's largest power, the United States of America, a situation that tonight makes us recall the brave, combative, and resilient spirit of the Cuban people, the same people known for their culture, solidarity, strength, and desire to live.”

Pino Martínez confirmed that 'Viva Cuba Fiesta' is that song of joy that nothing and no one can take away from us; therefore, for Cuba, we invite you to enjoy our music, dances and rhythms, our culinary traditions, and this magical night brought to us by 'Caliente Dance Studio,' with their Gala 'Cuba mi amor: a journey to the soul of Cuba.'

Present at the evening were Mr. Satoshi Iwasaki, His Excellency the Ambassador of Japan to Cyprus, diplomats from the Russian Federation and the Republic of China, accredited religious denominations on the island, as well as other lovers of Cuban culture from Greece, Italy, Romania, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, among many other attendees of the most diverse nationalities represented there.
