This message was sent by Dr. José Antonio Copo Jorge, Head of the Abdominal Transplant Service at this prominent Cuban healthcare institution.
For months, the Ireland-Cuba Solidarity Forum—supported by trade unions like SIPTU and Irish friends of the Cuban Revolution from across the country—has worked tirelessly to ship two 40-foot containers. Filled with medical supplies and powdered milk, the shipment was received in Havana as a gesture of brotherhood and support for the people of the Caribbean island, who are suffering the consequences of a cruel U.S. blockade—a situation exacerbated since January by restrictions on energy supplies.
The Embassy of Cuba in Ireland joins these Irish solidarities in this noble endeavour and extends its deepest gratitude for such a generous gesture.
