Cuba thanks the support of the Eswatini Government in rejecting the blockade

Mbabane, November 28 2018.- The Cuban Ambassador to the Kingdom of Eswatini, Rodolfo Benítez Verson, held a meeting at the headquarters of the Foreign Ministry of that country in Mbabane, with the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Joel Nhleko.

In the meeting, the Cuban Ambassador thanked the Swazi government for the strong support given to Cuba in the battle against the criminal and unilateral blockade imposed by the Government of the United States, including in the recent vote on the resolution on the subject, adopted on November 1 at the United Nations.

Acting Minister Nhleko reiterated that Eswatini's support to Cuba in rejecting the blockade is a principled position that has the consensus of the country's government, led by King Letsie III.

The meeting also served to reiterate the Cuban government's commitment to the people and government of the smallest country on the continent, to maintain cooperation in the health area and to evaluate its expansion to other sectors of mutual interest.

Both representatives reviewed the political and economic situation of the regions of Africa and Latin America, as well as the challenges facing our two countries in the current international context.
