Pretoria, May 11, 2019.-The Cuban professors Ricardo Pardo Hernández and Luis Arias Rodríguez, PhD students in Pedagogical Sciences and Physical Culture Sciences, respectively, arrived in the Kingdom of Lesotho to provide their services in the creation and opening of a Faculty of Sports and Physical Culture at the National University of Lesotho, the largest high school house in that African kingdom.
Yesterday a press conference took place in Maseru to introduce the new Cuban professors, in which Mabataung Khalane, sub secretary of the Ministry of Gender, Youth, Sports and Recreation of the Kingdom of Lesotho and authorities of the aforementioned institution participated.
As part of the audience attending the conference, there were several Basothos professionals who graduated in Cuba as Bachelors in Physical Culture. One of them, in emotional moment expressed: "Who would have known that one day professionals from a place as far as Cuba would come here to our land ... teachers that you know well, well. Welcome Profes!"
The arrival of the new collaborators of the Sports and Physical Culture sector is part of the practical implementation of the bilateral cooperation agreement in this field, signed on October 4 in Pretoria by the Cuban Ambassador Rodolfo Benítez and the representative of the National University of Lesotho, Maqalika Lerothol.
Cuba and Lesotho, which on June 14 will celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, work together in the interest of diversifying and expanding bilateral cooperation. A Cuban Medical Brigade also provides services in the Kingdom, with wide recognition of the people and government of Lesotho.
