Pretoria, 28 June, 2019.- The Ambassador of Cuba, Rodolfo Benítez Verson held a meeting with the filial of FOCUS (Friends of Cuba Society in South Africa) of Cape Town led by the renowned anti-apartheid fighter, Father Michael Lapsly and Fatima Swartz in the South African city. The meeting was also attended by leading members of the Congress of South Africa Trade Union (COSATU) of Western Cape Province and the Ambassador of Venezuela, Mairín Moreno.
The Cuban Ambassador reiterated the gratitude of the people and government of Cuba to FOCUS on their activism in the defense of the Cuban Revolution and for the countless signs of solidarity towards our country. FOCUS and COSATU members emphasized their commitment to strengthening the solidarity movement with Cuba in the face of the aggressive policy of the US government and assured that they will immediately make their activism public in support of the Cuban Revolution in the current circumstances.
