Roseau September 2, 2019. The Ambassador of Cuba in Dominica, Ulises Arranz Fernández, received at the headquarters of the Embassy the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development, Ms. Chandler Hyacinth and the Representative of the United Nations Program for Development (UNDP) in Dominica, Mr. Luis Francisco Thais. Senior officials were accompanied by managers of their entities. Ing. Juan Antuch, head of the Cuban collaborators brigade, also participated.
Ms. Chandler Hyacinth referred to the work carried out by the members of the Cuban Builders Brigade in this country, as a result of the Agreement signed by both governments for the recovery after the passage of Hurricane Maria. He highlighted the quality of the work they have done in the recovery of educational centers and, in particular, that they have been developing at Salisbury Elementary School, where UNDP cooperation is present; criterion that was reiterated by Mr. Luis Francisco Thais.
The cuban Ambassador thanked the acknowledgment expressed by the top officials and reiterated Cuba's willingness to cooperate in all the projects that are within its reach, as an expression of the good relations existing between both countries and the affection that cubans feel for their dominican brothers
