The Secretary General of the African National Congress held a meeting with the First Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba.

Pretoria, 4th September, 2019.- In the framework of the official visit to South Africa Marcelino Medina González, first vice minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, held a meeting with Ace Magashule, general secretary of the African National Congress (ANC).
The Cuban representative expressed satisfaction for being again in South African land, especially in this moment in the year that marks the 25 anniversary of the first visit to this sister nation of the Commander in Chief, Fidel Castro. He also expressed gratitude for the historical support that South Africa has given Cuba in the battle for the lifting of the criminal blockade that the United States imposes on Cuba for more than 50 decades and the active actions of the ANC and the South African solidarity movement in this fight.
The South African leader said that the Cuban brothers can continue to count on South Africa while reiterating the eternal gratitude of the South African people to the Cuban people for their valuable and heroic support in the independence of the African peoples from the colonialist. He also condemned the aggressive escalation that the current US administration undertakes against the Cuban people.
Both personalities expressed satisfaction at the strong political ties that Cuba and South Africa have today.
