Roseau, July 1, 2020. The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in Dominica, Ulises Arranz Fernández, received at the Embassy's headquarters the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Honorable Roosevelt Skerrit. During the meeting, which took place in the morning today, July 1, 2020, topics of mutual interest for bilateral relations between the two countries were discussed.
The Cuban Ambassador thanked Dominica for his traditional support to Cuba, whose most recent expression was as a member of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), through two Declarations approved at the Organization's sixty-ninth session, held on June 18, 2020. One of the Declarations condemned the increase of actions by the United States government against Cuba and the other Declaration thanked the medical support provided by Cuba to six OECS member countries, to help combat the coronavirus pandemic. (COVID-19), among which is Dominica.
For his part, the Prime Minister expressed his desire to continue strengthening the excellent relations between the Commonwealth of Dominica and the Republic of Cuba.
