Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. October 20, 2020. This morning, Cuban National Culture Day was celebrated at School No. 52 “José Martí” in Ulaanbaatar, in an emotive event starring Mongolian children and young people who study in this educational center. Teachers and students of different school grades participated in the cultural presentation nuanced by dances and poems by the Cuban National Hero José Martí, after whom the educational center bears his name.
With the notes of the national anthems of Cuba and Mongolia interpreted by a choir of students with members of all the school years, the celebration began. High school students declaimed the poetry, “La Rosa Blanca” from “Versos sencillos”, by José Martí, and a dance group delighted the guests with their art.
On the occasion, the best works of the Drawing Contest in homage to José Martí were also awarded, where the students represented the Cuban Apostle in the framework of the friendship between both peoples that this year marks the 60th Anniversary of the establishment of Diplomatic Relations. Of the hundreds of drawings received from all levels of education, 12 works were awarded that were exhibited in the room dedicated to Cuba that the school has and in which the figure of Martí and the friendship between both peoples were authentically reflected.
