Cuban Ambassador participates in preliminary meeting for the Chatham House Conference on Latin America

The Cuban Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Bárbara Montalvo Álvarez, participated in a virtual meeting of the GRULA heads of mission in preparation for the Chatham House Conference on Latin America, scheduled for 16 and 17 November. The conference, which on this occasion will be held virtually, is part of the Chatham House LIVE series and will bring together policy makers, business leaders and international experts with a global audience to reflect on the economic, political, social and geopolitical impact of the COVID-19 on the region and the measures taken in response so far.

The Cuban Ambassador highlighted the importance of joining common efforts to advance towards the collective goals set by the region and each country individually. Montalvo reiterated that Cuba will always be willing to contribute. She also pointed out that the subject is of great interest among Cuban experts and analysts, who are unable to participate due to the use of the Zoom platform for virtual meetings, which cannot be accessed from Cuba due to the blockade measures that the United States has imposed on the island for more than six decades.
