Apsana Begum MP becomes the 21st British parliamentarian to formally nominate Cuban medics for the Nobel Peace Prize

Apsana Begum MP has become the 21st British parliamentarian to formally nominate the Henry Reeve International Medical Brigade for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize. She was elected MP for Poplar and Limehouse in East London in 2019.
In her submission to the Nobel prize committee Apsana said:
“The doctors of Cuba’s Henry Reeve International Medical Brigade have shown selfless humanitarianism and dedication to public health during this pandemic. Since March, more than 3,700 Cuban health workers have travelled around the world to treat COVID-19 patients and the Brigade has saved more than 90,000 lives since 2005. 
In support of her nomination Apsana said
“This is a truly inspirational example of global cooperation and solidarity and for this I am delighted to have made an official nomination to the Nobel Prize Committee for the Henry Reeve Brigade to be awarded the 2021 Peace Prize.”
