London, 20 March 2021 - The Cuba Solidarity Campaign in the United Kingdom received today, virtually, ICAP's 60th Anniversary Commemorative Seal, during an emotional national meeting held this Saturday morning.
The President of ICAP, Fernando González Llort, sent a recorded message to the meeting, which was also attended by the Ambassador of Cuba to the United Kingdom, Bárbara Elena Montalvo Álvarez. Both acknowledged the impressive work carried out by the Campaign over the years.
During the meeting, the organizers gave an account of the results of the work carried out in 2020. Some of its leaders referred to the Cuban experience in confronting COVID-19 in the context of the tightening of the blockade against Cuba, and called for increased action to lift the blockade and in defense of the island.
One of the most moving moments was the presentation of a video made by the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), which includes relevant moments of the activities of the CSC, while Fernando's letter was being read out on the occasion of the awarding of this recognition.
