The Ambassador of Cuba and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saint Kitts and Nevis hold a cordial meeting.

Basseterre, January 25, 2022: On Tuesday afternoon, the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, David Rivero Pérez, visited the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Aviation of the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis and Premier of the island of Nevis, Honorable Mark Brantley, in his government offices in the island of Nevis.

During the cordial meeting, after the expressions of welcome offered by the Foreign Minister, issues of the bilateral agenda of common interest were reviewed and the good state of the relations between the two Caribbean nations was ratified.

The Ambassador expressed his gratitude for the historic support given by Saint Kitts and Nevis to Cuba in the battle to end the blockade. The Foreign Minister, for his part, expressed his unwavering commitment to maintain the position in this regard and expressed his rejection of this "cold war" policy as he called it.

The first secretary Ivón Tomé Flis also participated in the meeting. At the close of the visit, Cuban diplomats visited other places of interest on the island of Nevis on a tour organized by the host as part of the warm welcome.
