Director of the National Gallery hosts the Cuban Ambassador.
 
London, 2 February. Dr. Gabriele Finaldi, director of the National Gallery, received today the Cuban Ambassador to the United Kingdom, H.E. Ms. Barbara Elena Montalvo Álvarez, who paid a courtesy call.

At the meeting, Dr. Finaldi was pleased to recall  the visits made to the National Gallery by Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel during his transit visit through London in 2018, and by Minister of Culture Alpidio Alonso, in November 2019.

On her part, the Ambassador reiterated the importance that the Cuban Government attaches to culture and the arts for the development of bilateral relations, and conveyed an invitation from the director of the National Museum of Fine Arts (MNBA) in Havana for Dr.Finaldi to visit Cuba. The discussions in the meeting were focused around the possibilities of collaboration for future projects and a possible cooperation with Cuban sister institutions, as well as the prospects to further promote cultural tourism in the Caribbean nation.

Also in attendance at the meeting  was Michel Rodríguez, First Secretary in charge of Cultural and Academic Affairs of the Embassy of Cuba.
