The lone star flag waved under the Ottawa sky

Ottawa – At the City Hall of the Canadian capital, the Cuban flag was raised this January 28th to commemorate the 173rd anniversary of the birth of Cuba's National Hero, José Martí, and the 67th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution.

The ceremony was presided over by Jeff Leiper, city councillor and Deputy Mayor of the City of Ottawa, alongside the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz.

Cuban Consulate in Ottawa: IMPORTANT NOTICE!

The Consulate in Ottawa will be closed on Thursday December 25, and between Monday December 29 to January 2nd (National Holiday and Triumph of the Cuban Revolution).

If you require visa approval from our Consulate, please note that during the holidays, visas will only be approved on Friday, December 26, and Monday, December 29. Interested people can access the following URL: https://evisacuba.cu/es/inicio

The consulate will reopen during its regular hours on Monday, January 5, 2026.
