Diaz-Canel: The Revolution Anniversary is a Commitment

Havana, Dec. 31.- Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel congratulated the people of the island on the 60th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution. 'There are only hours left before the 60th anniversary of the revolutionary victory. Congratulations,' he wrote in Twitter. Besides, he highlighted that on December 10 Yeyé (fighter Haydée Santamaria) was born, the city of Santa Clara was liberated and 'Cuban mambises of the twentieth century' reached the gates of Santiago de Cuba.

Mr. Phil Owen, Director of the Cuban Hospital, Mr. Mohamed Almarri, Executive Director, Professor, Ernesto Lopez, Director of the Cuban Medical Service and Head of the Cuban Medical Brigade, Dr. Angel Mario Felipe, Medical Director of the Cuban Hospital, Compatriots, members of the Cuban Medical Brigade in Qatar. First of all, on behalf of the state mission of Cuba in the State of Qatar, I wish to express our congratulations on the occasion of the Latin American Medicine Day that we have just commemorated and for the organization, once again, of this interesting scientific event.

Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba: The US State department uses the granting of visas to affect diplomatic relations with Cuba.

Declaracion

During the past few months, the US State Department has been concocting a new pretext to affect bilateral diplomatic relations, associated to the granting of the diplomatic and official visas required by the staff of the respective embassies in Washington and Havana to perform their duties.  The maneuver consists in claiming that Cuba is hindering the granting of visas for designated officials at the US embassy in Cuba, which allegedly hinders the work of that diplomatic mission.
