LASFF 2023 inaugurated.

Wellington, September 1. With the presence of the mayor of Wellington, H.W Tory Whanau, the 21st edition of the Latin American and Spanish Film Festival was inaugurated tonight.

8 films from our countries will be presented in various cities in New Zealand between September and November, in a free event organized by the embassies of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Cuba, Mexico, Peru, and Spain, with the support of several sponsors.

Cuba will present the film "Tales of One More Day", which tells various stories about love in times of pandemic.

Wellington, May 23. As part of the preparations for the Latin America and Spain Film Festival (LASFF), the ambassadors involved had a friendly meeting with the Mayor of this city, H.W Tory Whanau.

The support of the City Council for the cultural event that will begin in September was ratified, and we analyzed other initiatives to jointly promote cultural rapprochement between our countries and the people of Wellington.

A summer festival is among the proposals.

We thank the City Council for their hospitality and support.

 

Latin America and Spain Film Festival opens in New Zealand.

Wellington, September 2. The ambassadors of Latin America and Spain inaugurated the 20th edition of their Film Festival (LASFF), which they organize every year with the support of local sponsors.

At the opening, the Mayor of Wellington, Andy Foster, highlighted the interest generated by the festival in the city.

From September to December, 9 films will be shown in 11 New Zealand cities, this year under the coordination of the Argentine Embassy.

Cuba is in charge of the festival in the city of Palmerston North, and is represented by the film El Mayor.

Preparations begin for the Latin America and Spain Film Festival.

Wellington, May 23. The Ambassadors of Latin America and Spain met today with authorities from Wellington City Council to formally begin preparations for our Film Festival.

This year under the coordination of Argentina, the festival will be inaugurated in Wellington on September 2 and will extend to several cities in New Zealand.

Cuba will present the film "El Mayor" and will be in charge of the coordination of the festival in the city of Palmerston North.

The event is free and is well received by the local public and the communities of our countries here.
